Benefit Rate Changes

The annual review of the Supplementary Health Care, Dental, Group Life and Dependent Life Insurance has been completed.  CEMA has been advised that the new premium rates will be effective December 27, 2015.

Premiums for CEMA will be increasing primarily due to the removal of the $250 deductible for physiotherapy services and the $30 deductible which exclusively affects prescription drug costs.

Acupuncture and chiropractic costs also saw an increase as coverage was increased from 50% and 75% respectively to 80% for both services. Dental premiums will also increase due to the high usage in 2014.

Please see the 2015 Employee Benefit Premiums Changes chart for a further description of the changes.
