Participation in the Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund (ECECAF) is voluntary for any management employee. Membership in ECECAF and CEMA are separate choices, but you must choose whether to join ECECAF immediately upon being appointed to a management position. Should you choose to contribute, that choice will remain for the duration of your employment with the City of Edmonton.
Employee contributions are 1/4 of 1% of your salary per pay period where 75% of the contributions are allocated to the charitable portion of the fund and 25% of the contributions are allocated to the scholarship and special aid portion. The charitable portion is included on all members’ annual T4s.
Scholarships are provided to contributing members’ children entering post secondary education. If eligibility criteria is met (see the Guidelines and Form), scholarships are provided for two consecutive terms.
